So the dealer will have to have my satin hood repainted since someone tried to remove a scratch and made a nice shinny spot on the hood.

So what I am thinking is since it has to get painted .... maybe do a little custom paint on the hood at the same time. Is that a bad idea?
IMO I don't think the hood is something that is rare ... seems very common but I understand it is a $2000 option ... so I might not want to remove that value by changing it up ....

I am not the type of person that likes having the exact same car as someone else.

    Thoughts?

My thought is to have the center section stay satin black and the flatter parts to go PCP. So it will kind of taper around the center scoop.....

I've seen a couple pics where people had their hood wrapped to simulate carbon fiber, it looks badass!

I have seen a couple of hoods painted in gloss black. They looked pretty sick. Less maintenance in the long run. Bwoody's carbon hood is the one i secretly covet.

A good shop can do wonders with paint and deferent finishes from gloss to mat . I had thought of jest having the image on mine done in a flat and the rest of the hood in a gloss. I vote make it yours! Do what you want! image.jpg

Do what you like! If you go to sell it a few years from now and are getting killed on the resale, go buy a factory hood off eBay and put it back on the car. Then you'll be able to sell the custom hood to someone else too.
