I've never leased a vehicle before but I just might go this route if it is. I plan on having it for more than 3 years but you truly never know. A sales rep asked me if I wanted to do lease or buy. And then online on dodge.com there is also an option to do that as well.

Does anyone have any clarification. Thanks

Definitely should be an interesting answer to the question: What's the expected depreciated value at the end of the lease?
I suppose assuming that you negotiate a price close to MSRP.

Aside from low payments, leasing is not a fiscally sound choice, even if you keep the car for 3 years. The amount of money you pay out during the course of that lease could be applied towards the principal of the car that YOU would own, by building equity. Not "renting" the car, just to give it back after the lease is up and them selling it to someone else (and probably making a profit in the process).

You'd be better off buying a daily driven beater, and occasionally renting a Hellcat to satisfy your desires - all the while pocketing that "lease money" as a down payment until you're ready to purchase one.

I was told if you lease it, and decide to buy it, all the money you put down and payments made go toward the purchase of the car, minus taxes, and fees..

My dealer did a lease for a HC last month. I think the residual was 60%...3 or 4 years can't remember. BTW...would anyone here buy a 3 year old HC coming off a lease? Without knowing who the owner was and the care it received...no way.

I'm not understanding what your saying. From 2 of the salesmen that I spoke with whatever payments I was making would go towards the principal of the car and the residual would also factor in if I choose to sell it outright at the end of my lease. In the beginning my payments are lower, etc and not only will the payments I was making goes towards principal I could always opt out after the 3 year mark. So leasing isn't bad at all. My intentions are to keep it anyway most likely after 3 years honestly but leasing seems like a win/win.

My only modifications are only cosmetic I'd do in the span of 3 years anyhow. So that's another plus.

That doesn't sound like a bad deal. I'm curious to see what your dealer says.

The dealer near me told me that they won't lease them though, but couldn't give me a reason when I asked him why not and I didn't pursue it because they know more than I do about it. That dealership has had allocation (and sold) 15 Hellcats so far and has two more on the truck inbound. That sounds like a lot to me.
