I found an old thread about this but the question I have was not answered,
Is every Hellcat built the same, or is the 50 state emissions legal deal an option?
I know some cars have it, its a sticker under the hood and all, but do all Hellcats have this?
Can a person get a Hellcat with less emissions controls?

I am looking at a Hellcat and it has this "50 state emissions legal" listed under additional options.
    What is the deal?

This came up when I bought mine out of state. There are 2 types of certification (50 state & CA). About 12 states currently require CA emissions on your car's sticker to register if its new. So 50 state does not really mean what you would think would be obvious. However not all of those 12 states are as brutal when trying to register a car as California is, so you can squeak by unless you get a real chop buster. The law applies to newer cars with under 7500 miles.

So two certifications for Hellcats? Two types of computer tunes? Two types of exhaust?

Don't know the answer to that, I just found this out while panicking after learning my state was one of the 12 and then breathed a sigh of relief when the dealer told me my car said "CA" on the emissions label. I did not have a need after that to verify if there are 2 tunes for Hellcat models. I know some cars do like my friends ZL1 Camaro.
