So last year I owned the car for two days and put the 305/35 Nitto 555 drag radials on my 9.5" wheels. Lots of us have done it, and it is an improvement. I ripped them off, after measuring the contact patch and realizing I was wasting these expensive tires. BUT OMG check out what an 11" wide wheel does to the same 305/35. I shot a picture last night of our stockers VS. the drag radial on 11" worth of wheel. Amazing! I hope the performance will be as amazing late the afternoon in the rare cool dry air at BIR.

Also the fit of 11" with a 21mm backset and 305/35's is so nice and so perfect. We could even get the backset a little stronger if nothing wider is intended FYI. Such a welcome sight after wrestling with two sets of 315/35's now and hammering those wheel wells down to bare steel.

What was the contact patch size of the stock tire vs. the 305 on the stock rim vs the 305 on the 11" rim?

Thanks Bro. Just don't want anyone surfacing a video of me losing to a Camaro.

I remember the contact patch was the same as the 275/40. This morning with 30 psi on the road, looks like all but an inch in the floor each side. I will imagine at 19-20 psi this afternoon these will be full thread in the road. I stopped briefly to check traction once this morning. Very, very different. Can't wait to get it hooked on the strip.

Do you still run Triumph wheels at all?

Yes he does......The Bravados have his drag racing radials on them....OEM wheels he's been using for the road course and the Triumphs for his cruising on the street. The Triumphs are even more impressive looking in person.....pictures can only tell part of the story :)

Biz makes a quality wheel. If I ever decide to change I'll go for Triumph's for sure.
