    Hi HC Community,

I've been really thinking of getting a 2016 Challenger HC....so on Monday I took a drive to a local Dodge dealer that had one on the showroom floor, Granite A8 at MRSP $70K. I loved the color but want a M6, the dealer said they have an allocation that has not been fulfilled, if I wanted it I can order the way I want. I drove my 2012 Camaro ZL1 M6 with 7,450 miles on the clock to the dealer just for goofs and giggles....I loved the CAT so much that I said if they gave me a good trade-in value I was in. After about 30 mins of haggling they offered $37K....I built one with the options I wanted and it priced at approx. $69,700. I told them let me sleep on it, they said to let them know by Thursday. Now the guy called me yesterday and today...I need to make a decision....in your opinion, I'm I making a good decision? Is this CAT that badass? Is it that much better than the ZL1? Any thoughts would be much appreciated it....

    Thanks,
    Alex

I have never owned or ridden in a ZL1. I had a Shelby cobra replica that was very quick, handled well and was a blast to drive. The Hellcat is hand downs better. The car is easy to drive but when you want to go it does it effortlessly. The 6 speed is easy to drive. The Barton shifter is a nice addition. I don't think you will be disappointed. I am sure someone with a ZL1 can provide you a direct comparison on the forum.

The Hellcat will exceed your expectations.

I bought a 16 Challenger HC Granite and A8...Best Auto trans I've ever driven. I love this car... You will too, whether an A8 or an M6...

My brother has a z28 2015. I have numerous camaros. Biggest difference I think is comfort. In the 5 th gen cars they just feel ackward and hard to see out of and kind of makes a person uncomfortable. I just recently got a challenger and immediately fell in love w the comfort and the easy drivability. My wife will be driving it too on occasion but she feels the same way. I like the camaros don't get me wrong but I really love the challenger. If it wasn't so damn heavy. It would be absolutely perfect.

It's a hard decision, i did my research for about a year before i bought my cat. I looked at the ZL1, Z28, Corvette, M4 and the new Shelby 350. I know all different cars but i wanted to be happy with my purchase, they didn't let me drive the Hellcat, but they let me drive the new SRT Challenger. I was hooked. Mine is a M6 and boy o boy it's fun to drive. My opinion might be biased, but you won't regret it. Go for it!

All I will tell you is if you can drive one it will be all over after that. You won't miss the ZL 1 a bit. Me personally the A8 is a stronger trans and shifts faster than I can shift the M6. No matter what you won't be able to get the grin off your face.

Here is a head to head of those two cars, maybe some of what they say here will help you make a decision.
