all L series cars (LX, LA, LC, LD) have the battery mounted in the trunk area. not only does it help with weight distribution but it also keeps the battery away from the hot engine compartment (heat can adversely affect battery life).

Agree 100%^^^^^ I'm on my third battery in my 2013 Boss....a battery every year. That battery isn't too far from the engine and that compartment gets pretty darn hot....can only imagine adding the heat from a larger engine with a blower on it.

They tell me that they just changed the battery in my former '06 SRT8 with the trunk battery. And it was still not dead! Built spring '06, about 75,000 miles. What great cars.

Koolcat wait till you get to drive it, then we really want to hear what you think. Based on this weather and the wonderful rain, we could have them out pretty soon!

Just be careful if you ever let anyone jump start your Cat. I have seen several vehicles already this winter that were jumped backwards. One recent example was a $55,000 Jeep grand cher Summtt
it fried every module in the vehicle and practically every wiring harness needed replacement, bill to repair was $19,500.

By backwards do you mean with the poles reversed? I didn't know this type of damage could happen. Do you know why?

We service vehicles form the rail yard and what I meant was whoever connected a jump pack or box hooked up neg to post and post to neg. The vehicle sat for months here before we could get any clearance to fix. it is catastrophic to accidently do this, let me add that the inside of the vehicle smelled like burnt electrical wires. it was sad to see, the only thing similar to jumping a vehicle backwards is a lightning strike!!

Today I learned... You can not use the remote start button on the key fob with the hood open. With the hood closed, if you remote start the car with the fob and don't get in the car and press the brake and start button, the motor will shut off if you open the hood.

Just tape that button (passenger side, rear engine bay up on top by the hood hinge) down under the hood if you have the need.... or put something heavy on it ;)
