For us people who store our cars for the winter the free satellite radio subscription should be expiring about the time we bring our cars out in the spring.

I agree, but they will activate it, I get the car, it then sits for 3 months.

    It's a 1-year trial subscription. Still have 9 months.

you could also tell them not to activate it and maybe they will let it slide so that when you're actually ready to use the subscription you would activate it yourself?

I dunno...I think Sirius is behind this whole shipping delay thing. I can't prove it though.

Okay, I am feeling a little froggy today!

I will be listening to the sweet sound of a supercharger's whine for the first year then after that I may turn on the radio.

I have had them for a couple years both the XM and Sirius ( or the combined what ever)

They can put your radio on "hold" over the storage period. Maybe you can set up your free trial once you take it out in the spring. I think the dealer may be able to NOT activate your radio until spring. I always call into the customer service rep and have them suspend service over winter. Never had a problem. Just the phone call is a huge pain the in butt, takes 30 mins on a good day.
worst case go thru the full deal with your salesman once the car is put away then call Sirius and tell them you won't use it for x amount of time. I am willing to bet they will suspend your service until you contact them again. So if an hour of your time is worth 6 months of service make the call.
