investigated this exstensively before going with c quartz, ceramic pro, etc, esoteric care care sells this, and can be done yourself, no need to hire someone, also have hi heat nano coatin by geon that will be applied to wheels in next few days.. these caotings make the car like wet candy and topping it with the ism gave a deep rich gloss. cant wait to get it outside in the sun.. do a little research before you pay big money to a shop.. this stuff isnt cheap, but if you do youreself or eevn hire a helper, can be done in a weekend.. any ?'s pm me..

    Nice job!

What did you have to do for prep work? Clay bar? Did you use any orbital buffers? Also- did you notice any defects in your paint while going through the whole process?

One of the reasons I went the ceramic pro route was the huge amount of surface scratches I had in the paint straight from the dealer. I also found a spot on the passenger side door were it looks like the factory (or the dealership) wet sanded an area, but didnt finish up with the proper grit. Long story short is I didnt have the time available to get it looking the way I wanted, so had the professionals do it. Granted, it wasnt cheap, but now I have a "known good" to build off!

Again, nice work on your car! It turned out great!

i did not let the dealer touch it!! thats a whole nudder story, anyways yes i did a bit of clay to remove glue that was on my car from delivery, and yes i found a few spots, but overall paint was good, nice orange peal from the factory, polished with foam pad using menzerna 2500 cut, real light pass all the way around car.. then used geon
prep, stuff is awesome at preparing surface to receive coating. then got to work used a bunch of applicator cloths, and 8 microfibers from chemical brothers.. used one microfiber to take coating off once applied, and one to buff and remove any excess. once myabi coat was done on all painted surfaces i used the ism coat (erotic porn glass) on the painted surfaces again and all the black, hood, tail section and front of car.. freaking crazy looking, it actually hardens and looks better after 24-48 hrs.. cant wait to go out and look at it after work tomorrow..
