I read all the input from Cycler's recent post regarding "loose leather" on his seats and came away with two thoughts:

    1. This problem (loose leather) although rare can occur; additionally based on other members who have experienced this condition it appears the root cause is lack of proper foam support inside the seat which needs to be rectified by the dealer or an experienced upholsterer by removing the laguna seat covers and properly re-fitting additional foam as needed. If this should happen to me I most likely would choose a professional over the dealer which would be out of pocket.

    2. More alarming to me was one of our members has reported that in his experience luguna leather has a tendency to crack. Based on that valuable information should we then consider PROACTIVELY treating the leather with a some kind of product that will prevent this from happening?

    Thank you !

You are correct on both items, that has been my experience with leather seats as long as I have owned them.

Dealer would just replace the seats seeing how it's a vendor issue. No way would I let them tear apart my seats.

I don't have my car yet, so the only thing I can ad is that I saw a new 392 Charger last weeks at the dealer with Sepia Laguna leather and it was really soft and pliable, more like a jacket. It felt awesome to the touch, but it seems like it couple be supple enough to stretch really easy.

No problem with my Laguna Sepia leather. Instructions on the tag provided say clean with warm damp cloth and dry. No way someone already has cracking on a brand new car unless they put something on it to cause this.

I agree. There is no way that great Laguna leather is going to crack for many, many years, and only then with abuse or too much sunlight. Heck the laguna leather is far superior to that fine Corinthian leather they used to use:) If you haven't seen and touched it, you have no idea how high the quality of that Norweigan leather is. It really is nice stuff.

My Laguna leather is the best I've ever had and that includes a Mercedes and a Jaguar.

I don't have the laguna but the dealer had to warranty my seat cover. so there was a problem with the STD seats. ( if I could do over I would have got the cows)
