I have 305 Nittos in the rear ... they work OK on stock rims... no problem.
Has ANYONE successfully reworked wheel well to fit larger tires... without major re engineering?
Thanks for any input from those who have done it!

I am running 315/35/20 MT's drag radials on recommend Mickey Thompson Challenger rims at 16 lbs have 11 1/2 rubber on ground, street I run 28 lbs. Clearances good around tire, could run 325's I would have to check the inside splash plastic gard with the 315 only get my pinky between tie and gard, that's the area in front of rear tire, good clearance everywhere else.

Thanks for the info... what width rims? Which model m/t rim? I am considering Bravado 18" 11 W and mounting 315/40/18 Nittos.
My current 305 NIttos actually rubbed a bit of the plastic splash guard away... a bit larger may have to massage a bit.

Thanks... that offset/parameter must be the magic size to fit 315s with no mods... NOW if have to figure it out if I lower the car One inch!
Does it appear you have room left on the inside and out if you lowered one inch?
    Thanks again for the input.
Do you have photo of the wheel/tire you could post (I cannot quite see it in your profile photo)

There in Ohio at brothers, left them there to run at Norwalk drag strip and National Trails drag strip in Columbus, didn't think to take picture of them on the rear. Lowering your car probably would clear sitting still, but driving hitting a dip in the road might push tire up to far in wheel wields and rub.

Just wanted to share because it took me looking through lots of posts about the Nitto 305/35-20 555R on the rear to see how much trouble this would be. Turns out it was very easy and I actually had Firestone put the new tires on for me and balance them and they had no issues. There is absolutely no rubbing and they stick to the road way better than the Pirelli summer tires. Ebay has them for $640, but every so often than have a coupon code for $100 off of a tire purchase over $400. These two tires for $540 isn't too bad if you wait for the coupon code.

They bubble out a little bit but not too much. No issues with these whatsoever. Great purchase - should get 10,000-15,000 miles out of them.
