First how much room do we have to add, with the OEM wheels? I can barely get a finger between the tire and the suspension.

OEM of 275-40-20 is 28.7" dia. x 10.8" width The 295-35-20 is 28.1" dia. x 11.6" width should not rub, but?? The 305-35-20 is 28.4" dia. but 12" width :-(

Per their steer sizes of 748mm(29.4") x 285mm(11.2") is MAX for proper tire clearance, but does not address full suspension compression with full (left or right) lock turns.

Rear fitment appears to be approx. 345"s max to 315's but with-out actual testing it is just a WAG?

Their size comparator helps to visualize most of the what if's???

    Per rimsntires calc's
OEM tires: 275/40-20 (728x275mm). Big Brakes. Bolt pattern: 5x115. Offset: 15 to 22 mm. Tires up to 748x285mm (front). Rims up to 23x10.0" (front).

I can tell you rear, the magic max number is 10.5" rim, 25-27mm backset; Nitto and most other 315/35's. Look great, work good and guys are able to lower them also.

Those fronts seem to indicate the 275's are about it. Lots of numbers above, but that is what I read.

285-40-20 on oem rims may be the max? Until fully proven out. I'll stay with the 275-40-20 on my steers. Especially with some of the tire brand variances.

Up front I'm sticking with 275. On my stock rears I have 295s and they fit perfectly. Planning to lower the ride so keeping my staggered setup sane.

im putting them on Forgeline GA1R OPEN LUG wheels on. Accordind to Howey Industries Inc
    www.howeyindustries.com
    We normally do:
    20x9.5 +18 / 20x10.5 +29
    or
    20x9.5 +18 / 20x11 +35

    im going with the 10.5

on Rims&tires.com the say 285/35 goodyear F1 supercar will fit in front which are 11.4 wide sec width. the R-S3 285/35 run a little wider at 11.7 wide. i think they might fit.

Go for it, please let us know the fronts' magic tolerance for larger rubber. Me and others, hope to use the 9.5" OEM rims and obviously get a sticker and little wider tire on the front for off road racing purposes. I like that you are sticking with the OEM width and backset for the fronts. Good luck!

I'm staying with the 275/40s up front. I wanted to go with the 285s but I wanted a stay with a 40 series tire.
