so I put the car into winter mode today , we've had frost a couple times already and it won't be long before its nasty here.
The OE tires are no good below 10 degrees and the rubber compound will accually deteriorate if left in the -30 this winter. :( not heated yet...
So the car was put on jack stands after confirming with SRT no harm will come to my suspension.
Rims and tires to the bsmt, pretty standard stuff....
Full tank of fuel with stabilizer, drove around the block a few times to circulate it...
Dryer sheets in the trunk and interior
Decided to pull the battery and put it in the house as well on a trickle charger rather than doing same with battery still in the car.
But there's my mistake ;) Go Ahead have a laugh on me :D

I opened the doors and left them open before battery disconnect , so the windows would remain down a crack. Where they go automatically once you open the door....

Then I closed the trunk lid not realizing there is No keyhole on the trunk......
No power and no keyhole hrmmmmm should be fun getting battery back in once spring comes right??
Going to have to climb into trunkthru rear fold down seats and use emergency exit roflmao... But wait it gets better.....

I'm 6'6" and my seat is all the way back and reclined a fair bit, I know from my attempts to fold them a couple weeks ago my rear seats won't fold down without moving seats forward first....
Oh but I can't do that, power seats , no power...

Next spring should be an epic adventure trying to get back into my own car...

...Or just pop the hood and hook a battery to the posts under there. Then pop trunk

Yeah....you're in for a fun time. Are there any pos/neg connections under the hood near an aux fusebox? Just wondering if a person could use jumper cables to those (if they exist) and energize the system that way...

I always just leave my trunk open and trick the latch so it thinks the trunk is closed so the light doesn't stay on and hook up the Delran. You're the second person I've heard on this forum that says these summer tires will self-destruct in cold weather just sitting in the garage....why would they do that?

I had the Goodyear F1's in my 392, and granted we never see -30 degrees F, but it's gotten down to -10 to -15 a few times and I had no issues whatsoever. But keep in mind, unless it's that temp for days the garage generally is warmer inside by comparison to outside.

EDIT: You guys beat me to it!! lol

Hook a bat charger under the hood to pop the trunk

    It will work

front passenger seat is not powered, move it up, fold down the rear passenger seat (I'm pretty sure the back seat is separated into 2 sections and that the smaller section is the right rear seat....find a 7 year old kid, pay him $5 to crawl in with flashlight and pop the trunk.

Don't listen to the other people saying to hook a battery/jump it from the front, seems so boring to me lol

    pull the chute......

not sure but maybe you can trickle charge the posts under the hood to get enough juice to pop the trunk.

anyway good luck in 6 months.
