Car was just accepted by the NYS Lemon Law program. They don't accept it into the program unless you will win. It is #238. Car in its first 9700 miles has had:

    1) 2 supercharger belts
    2) Entire front braking system (rotors/calipers) replaced
    3) Exhaust system because of part failure (the whine noise due to failed actuator)
    4) 2 radiators
    5) 2 sets of radiator hoses
    6) Airbag module due to frayed wires
    7) 2 flappy modules due to whatever the hell made them stop working

While it really is a fun car. Build quality just sucks. For 75k it should have been better.

So sorry to hear that...that's a lot to go wrong in your first 10,000 miles. I guess it's time for a Viper LOL, or a 2016 model.

Been there and...the R8 has looks that kill, real supermodel lines. The gated shifter is the stuff, loved it as it "snicked" when you ran the gears. Seeing the V10 in the rear window slathered in carbon fiber was a dream.

However, it was a very fast yet "undramatic" experience...almost serene. If that is what you seek you'll love the car. I missed the American Muscle insanity. The R8 is a truly competent car it was a lotta looks but lacked the wild ride I love in cars, motorcycles, etc :p:D

I've been lucky with my black cat, no issues yet (knock on wood). I've considered selling my 15 and getting a Plum Crazy but I do worry about tempting fate. Mine is #4697

You hate to hear stories sbt this. Hear still tied all the time that the car must have been rushed st the end of a shift or end of on a Friday afternoon. There was no choice but to take the car back.
I hope your faith in the hellcat hasn't changed. We don't hear sbt stuff like this going wrong on one car. It def sounds like a clear lemon law case. This happens sometimes and sometimes is too often.

Nah, I have come to realize with cars you can't blame the dealer. It is like yelling at Best Buy if your TV doesn't work. These failures weren't because of bad service, it was because of a bad build. Thankfully in NY it is stupid easy to use the lemon law process. 4 time or 30 days and you win, easy as that. I was 5 times and 32 days.

Fighting with the dealers will get me no where other than a headache.

Really hate to hear about your bad experience. I've owned a lot of cars in the past 45 years but this Hellcat is the love of my life.

My new neighbors, who own a 2013 Shelby came over yesterday morning and asked to see the car. I pulled off the car cover and mouths dropped wife open. They asked if I could take them for a short ride. It's early Sunday morning so I agreed. We have a stretch of flat, wide open road about 3/4 of a mile for the house. Took them out there, went through the launch control setup and , well you know what happens next. Got her up to about 125 and then hard on the brakes. When we got back to the house the neighbor says, I can see our Shelby sitting in some dealership lot already and a new Hellcat in garage. I just smiled. Another one converted. :)

I'm curious why FCA hasn't just taken the car back? I have a friend who had a similar issue with a Dodge van. It took almost a year but they refunded his money in full.
