Went in this morning for tire rotation and balance. My car came out with 2 dented back fenders. The car was to low for the lift to go under, instead of putting a Jack under the rear to raise the car some to slide the lift under. One guy backed up to the fender and grabbed it with his hands and lifted it while other guy slid the lift under. 1456848773366-711432906.jpg

Was 3rd party. They know How I am about my car. The guy who usually works on it wasn't there.

For such a heavy car the sheet metal is like tin foil on these cars. I had a similar light dent, probably from the delivery driver pressing against the quarter panel while squeezing along side on the trailer. Dent guy fixed it right up, but he also pointed out several other "wavey" places that came from the factory. Look down the side of your car in the right light (dark cars show it better) around the door handles and the side mirrors. Metal is so thin there are stress waves from bolting the parts on!

That sucks. Now you have to find a good PDR guy. I guess as long as they pay to get it fixed there's not much else they can do at this point.

Here's an example of paintless dent removal right on a body line.

Speaking of the sheet metal being thin, I was not happy with the alignment between my front fender and passenger door so I took it to a body shop. I assumed that they would loosen some bolts and re-align the fender. NOPE. They just pushed on it to raise it up. See below.

    Before: 20150426_144512.jpg

    After:

It's still not perfect but they were afraid to push it any harder fearing that they would chip the paint. They actually moved the whole fender which reduced (and corrected) an oversized gap between the fender and the hood.

I think the fact that you didn't kill the guy on the spot shows you have great self control! myself I don't believe I would have been able to . My biggest fear is taking the car someplace and some moron damages it.

My first thought it the guy who lifted the car must have been pretty strong. My second thought, did the place that caused the damage admit they did it and are they going to pay for the repair? And did they still charge you to rotate the tires?

They took full responsibility. Rotation was free anyway it came with the tires I bought.

Dent-less repair can make short of that. They will pull out the tail light and work their magic. :D:D:D:D

Damn sheet metal on those rear quarters is paper thin. Don't press to hard when you wash or wax either.

And if you install ghost lights in the doors and when putting the panels back on, be careful when you snap the panel back in not to hold the door from the paint side and push...or else.
