so i was very shocked i lost to one today. I knew the guy and he has these mods:
Full exhaust (long tube headers back)
    Cold air intake
    Tune
    Bigger intake manifold
    345 rears
    Carbon ceramic brakes
First day i took my cat out in about a month and i pull up to the light and he pulls up next to me and waves then starts revving so i started aswell. The light goes green and i spin of course and he spins a tiny bit but hooks up alot faster than i did and takes off. I was catching up to him and he let off the gas. Has anyone lost to a c6 z06 or is it only me? I have the m6 challenger all stock

I hear the M6 is very hard to launch so that first 60 feet is the killer. Once it gets moving she goes.

It happens, everybody loses from time to time. I lost to a modified A8 C7 Z06 last year lol. I had him most of the race he caught me right at the finish. I made a few more mods and he didn't want to race later in the year lol. You are not the only Hellcat that has lost a race. Remember there is a abundance of parts available for the LS world and he may have had that car a while and really knows how to get the best out of it. Thats racing:)

no need to be shocked, the HC is not the only fast car out there, you will see more and more of it.
I have had a couple of vettes and a Shelby run away from me (they were modded)

Yup no matter what car you have you will ALWAYS come across one faster. Its the nature of the beast. But the Hellcat should smoke about 98% of stock cars out there in a 1/4 mile race. The guys on here with the A8 and drag tires with new carbon fiber drive shafts seldom lose.

When I first saw this thread I said to myself "BoTroll is going to slobber all over his keyboard when he sees this thread"...Bo you didn't let me down..LOL

OP the street is not a good place to prove which car is superior..a prepped track can turn the tables fast....

Stock Hellcat on street would have hard time since you would have traction issue. Plus Look at the z06 mod oh my god 345 tires dang

Reality is the z06 is lighter, so throw in a tune and some bolt ons and it can make just as much power as a hellcat. The only advantage you get then is having the A8 in the hellcat and hope you stick.

The car with more traction problems will benefit more from the prepped track. A car that already has 345's on the back probably hooks quite well, on any dry surface. While a stock tire Hellcat will often smoke the tires all the way down the block, in stark contrast. Thus, when on a prepped track, it will allow the Hellcat to often come off the line much harder than usual, while the car with the fat tires on it is already gonna launch hard, regardless. Thus, it helps even the odds.
