As I've been swapping out the brake pads from stock to Z23's I couldn't help notice how very dull looking the factory lug nuts are.

So far the I've been unable to find an exact replacement, with the Gorilla #61148 being the closest; but, it's configuration is bit different.

Would you know of any? ------------- if not, I'll most likely go for the 61148 Gorilla's which have a very nice chrome finish and the difference in shape will hopefully be unnoticeable t?

I know a lot of guys are switching to the black chrome ones which do look nice.

    Thank you

I bet a good Chrome polish would do wonders for the factory pieces...

I bought and use the gorilla 96643 BDX.
I prefer the black instead of chrome

    Fair enough.

Was there any notable improvement at all? (I had the same thought about mine when I recently changed out to Z23's as well...)

ZERO -------------- I even tried fine power brushing which usually makes any kind of metal or hard coating look great with no results whatsoever.
Anyways my NCRS Corvette days are over, so I'm sure nobody will be judging the minor difference of the Gorilla nuts. Additionally differences not withstanding, I'll bet the beautifully chromed Gorilla lug nuts will make those black wheels pop !! Also on a side note: my detailer applied a couple of coats of CQuarts Finest on the wheels which definitely brought the gloss level up very nicely.

Bull you were right, my first polishing attempt was "half ass" yielding no beneficial results, so thanks to you I gave it another try with an improved process of Menzerna 4500 fine polish and using my orbital buffer with a polishing foam pad and it worked real nice. Doesn't have to be Menzerna, any fine polish will work as well. After polishing I put a couple coats of Zaino and looks great! Takes some time but being retired that's not a problem!

    Hmmm. Zaino on my nuts...

    Never considered that. Must try.
