So the good old ET street drag radial has been discontinued from Mickey Thompson and is now replaced with the ET Street SS. Both use the R2 compound looks like they added tread for water dissipation to the S/S. Only description comment I see on the site is they left out is soft sidewalls for better launches..... Anyone tried the new tires yet?

I got caught in the rain today with the ET's, what a nightmare. I hope the SS's are better for water channeling !
Anyone not used to the DR's be very careful in the wet, there is a reason the say "dry road use only"

I've had both the ET Street (slicks with slots in them) and the Drag Radial. Yes the ET Streets sucked big time in rain but never had an issue with the Drag Radials.....

Just bought a set of the ss's at Norwalk ohio "shakedown event" sponsored by MT

They only had 1 pair but, the rep said they were to improve on water management and by the looks, they should

Same compound, great looking tire. total event sale of $700 bucks for the 2+ taxes, not horrible

    Going on this weekend

Yeah bud - how did the MT's SS work. 305/35/20's? How was the hook on the street if you ran them there?

I thought they worked awesome on the street! Night and day compared to the P-zero. Best 0-60 on the track for the the P-zero's was a 3.7 and I got a 2.9 with the M/T SS. After driving with them during the summer/ fall and I took them off for the P Zeros, You really see what a difference they make. You remember that you have to feather the throttle a lot on take off- lol!

What pressure were you running? I think the lower limit is 12psi on that tire. Might be a little squirrely at that pressure but it will hook.

Hey Billet, 2.5 is pretty sick. I see the outside temp in the pic is 44. Were you able to achieve that time at that temp?

The SS is designed for the street that's why the tread pattern has more cuts for wet roads.

I have been trying to decide between Nitto 555R and MT SS, but I think I be going with the SS.
