I don't know. I do watch my tach in every gear. That gives me the best info. If you find out something. That would be great info. For us M6 people.

This thing has more gadgets than the space shuttle you think they would have put it in the same spot as the a8 or a heads up display would have been nice. But like freight train said play it by ear!

can you be in the wrong gear with this thing? if it is not shredding the tires fast enough...just shift one down...

within a short amount of time you will know which gear you are in as soon as you grab the shifter...the second indicator is your ear (rpm)...

yes there is an adjustable shift light, but doesn't tell you what gear you are in.

I never had an issue with that.

No. If you're going for fast shifting set up the shift lights, if you are going for economy watch your MPG display. My opinion is just get a feel for the car and watch the road.

The shift lights SUCK - unless you have unbelievable peripheral vision. Those who say "they are watching the tach" don't drive hard. The bad part is the car never I mean never sounds like it is over rev'd. HUD display is a definite miss by FCA, it is needed. I have hit the rev limiter in every gear except 6th. I personally think it has much more on the high end and they (FCA) just built in protection, if you get what I am saying. I can't wait for a "reputable" tune to raise the limiter(s) or get rid of them - JMHO
