I'm undecided over both transmissions. I know there is a lot of topics about this already. Which transmission do you get to feel the brute power of the Hellcat engine more would you say? With a M6, can you use the launch control? I don't want a smooth shifting cadillac style ride per say. Comments welcome.

Depends on what your goal is I think. I've got the M6, love it... but I'm not trying to post sick numbers on the 1/4. My take on transmissions is this, if you want to seriously thrash this thing on a 1/4 mile get the auto. If you want to cruise around in the evening, listen to the engine and feel engaged driving from stoplight to stoplight take the M6.

if you want to be 1/2 a second faster on the 1/4 mile get the auto
if you dont care about being the fastest HC, but like shifting get the manual

If you want to point and shoot your car to the fastest 1/4 mile time...A8. If you actually want to DRIVE your car ...M6.

A lady from SRT called me and told me that if I didnt change my order to a m6 I would not get a car in 2015,I had another SRT Rep tell me not to worry my car would be built,I had made several calls to SRT,was always polite to whom ever I was talking with and had a good relationship with a couple of the reps,2 weeks later my car was sitting in the rail-yard in Nashville waiting on a truck. have changed my fair share of gears in my life,The A8 beats a manual hands down, this is just my opinion, you can drive it like an auto or you can drive it like a manual, its up to you and how you feel like you want to drive at that time. That is an option you dont have with the T6, I strongly suggest that if you get a chance to drive the A8 you give it a try in the manual mode out in the country where you will have curves and hills so you can have a chance to see what it can do.

Totally agree with this assessment of the A8. I always went for manuals but, the A8 is just fantastic. I use the manual mode all the time and it totally satisfies my need to shift gears.

Everyone covered the driving stuff so I'll change it up.....

A8....can remote start with the key fob or the phone. 100+ degrees out, it sure is nice firing that girl up before I pay the bill at a restaurant and she's nice and cool when I get in.

I agree Dafrimp I also have the M6 I love it you said it right. My last car was a M6 also but not the power this monster has. I just love my M6 it really lets you drive the car. I didnt just want to ride in the car. I mean put in drive and go. I know it has paddle shifters but it is different to me. This is not in any way talking bad about the A8 that's not my point both are good trans. I myself just like shifting gears .
