Magnetic Drain Plugs...worth the $$?

    Keep in mind that the ebay set is for a 2015 model HC because for 2016 the oilpan drain plug and the oil cooler drain plug are now the same diameter.

    Thats almost $40 each,
    Since they were nice enough to provide thread sizes,
    Research them and find a better price.
    My guess that is a 200% mark-up!

    Thanks everyone...

    My recent Oil Analysis indicates Iron content is a bit high based on universal averages from vehicles with 2,500mi. between oil change intervals. Unfortunately they don't report particle size only quantity in PPM so I'm going to assume that my oil filter is doing its job and capturing 'large' and potentially damaging iron particles. Otherwise, the other elements reported in this analysis are nonferrous.

    Looks to me like you could order a replacement set of plugs OEM and chuck them up on a lathe and drill out the ends and insert a rare earth magnet for a whole lot less money-

    Am I wrong to think this this would work ?
