They are doing road work on my street and left the road have finished. I usually drive around these, but this afternoon a truck was coming in the opposite direction so i had to move over more than i usually do and ran over the man hole. I have some wheels on order but would like to get this fixed. Is it fixable and can i have the construction company pay for it? I definitely need a new tire.

Sorry to see that, unknown myself if that can be fixed or not...

Seeing this makes me so glad I got the wheel insurance thing when I bought my HC...

Really, sorry, that just sucks. My brother had a pot hole eat a wheel once and got something from the city for it, 'forget exactly what he got though, (how much).

Not that it matters, but was that tire soft?

Wow sorry to hear this. The man hole looks as if it's sticking at least 3" about the street. Out of curiosity Did you measure it?
And good luck with getting them to pay I hope it works out for you.

Yeah it's sticking up quite a bit because they still have to lay another layer of asphalt. I can measure it tomorrow.

It looks high enough to damage the bottom of the cat thank goodness it only got the one rim.

You would be amazed what a good wheel repair place can do. If they paint is damaged during the repair, that will be the real issue as matching it is tough. You should seek out a few repair places to confirm if they can do this, if not, be prepared to hand them a 2k bill for just a rim.

Ive seen these crews leave manholes exposed....but not that much! I'd take a measuring tape and get a pic to show how far it's sticking up. Looks to me like they should have had that coned off....

That picture, which clearly doesn't show any cones, would easily win the day for you in court.
