Ran against an obviously modded 04 terminator cobra tonight. Loud as all hell. Too loud in my opinion. 40mph roll even thru 2nd gear. I started pulling in 3rd. When i hit 4th he was at my back bumper. I let off at 135mph. This was on a clear highway in north dakota with no traffic. Ran him twice with exact same results. You can really feel the horsepower advantage in the higher rpms. Get over 4,000 and the cat just separates. Afterwords he asked if i was using the right key. I said oh wtf ever im sure you have some nice mods. He said only an air cleaner and laughed. Clearly he knew there was a lot more than that. A little jealous of the meats he had on back. They were HUGE. Pulling away with the 6m was fun...would be fun to try with the A8.

Ran my 03 Cobra against our new Charger Hellcat last night at the track.
Cobra has mods with stock eaton blower and 315 Nitto's, Hellcat on stock tires. I was driving the Cobra and my son the Hellcat. The Cobra was ahead till half track due to better traction but the Hellcat came by like I was standing still. No way the cobra could keep at the top end, the Hellcat just keeps getting faster up top.

Doug, what were your times with your cat? A8 or M6?

12.3 @ 121 on an A8 at the track? I don't feel so bad about my M6 afterall now. Just using my srt pages/timer i got a 12.3. @117 on stock tires on an old shitty road when it was like maybe 50 degrees outside. Unprepared and all....id say at the track even with stock tires i should be able to get mid to low 11s for sure then. Honestly idk if those numbers are all that great. Feel free to chime in Screenshot_2015-05-31-12-10-49.png !

My srt pages on the street were actually better than at the track, first time out on street tires takes some practice with that much power. Mid to high 11's on street tires should be doable, low 11's on street tires can't see it without perfect conditions. We actually trapped as high as 123mph still in the 12's

Oh wow thats crazy. Yeah i couldn't believe my trap was only 117. But 123 and still only 12s thats nuts. Id think at that speed you'd be in the 11s for sure

I have Nitto NT05R's in 315/35/20 and ran a 10.91@127 two weeks ago at Atco Dragway. A8 Challenger all stock except tires. image.jpg

Doug, how did you have your car setup? It is all in your right foot and 60' time. You should be able to go low 11's with stock tires (all settings on track except suspension on street, traction control completely off and stall it at tree at 1800 rpms). Then come out as hard as you can without a lot of spin.

That is exactly how my settings were here in Ohio at Quaker city dragway. Track trans, street suspension, track off. My best time sofar is 11.6 with street tires. It takes a shitload of pedal control to get a decent 60 foot time.

There just so happened to be another hellcat there with nitto 555r's and he ran a 11.2.

Seems the launch is key with these, I have put down probably 20 or so 1/4 track runs on my cat and it took me a bit to get the 60 foot throttle situation under control & still cant bust a 1.80 60 foot. My highest trap speed was 123. With some good stickies on her and a high RPM launch we should see some 10's for sure. Im gonna play around with the "launch" function to see if it really will launch at 3500.....that would be comin out HOT buddy!

My son and I were taking turns driving, only took a couple runs each. Neither of us have any track experience so ya way too much pedal off the line and tire spin. With some more practice I can see mid 11's on street tires. We'll keep going back. Had a lot of fun though. Will probably have MT's on for the next time.
Only 1000kms on the car so far.

Doug, just takes practice and feel. It will come.

DB2, get some fat drag radials. Watch the weather and look for a cool evening. May be tough now as summer is here. When I pulled my 10.91 it was 66 degrees. 3500 may be too much, I think it will just spin. Good luck and have fun with it!
