I can't believe what they are trying to hide in this. All we hear is fix the roads which they said when the state tax went from 4% to 6%. Now they want to go to 7% sales tax. They said to fix the roads also when the gas tax went from 13 cents to the current 19 cents. In this proposal is a floating rate gasoline tax based on wholesale gasoline pricing which as of a month ago was 41 cents. That's a 115% increase with unlimited amount of increase. That means regular gas which is $2.40 a gallon now would go to $2.62! And when prices increase so does the tax. And 18 wheelers driving through the state that are the biggest contributors to road deterioration that don't buy fuel in Michigan go Scott free while Michigan drivers and taxpayers foot the bill.

It's your vote make sure you go to the polls Tuesday May 5th as this is a HUGE tax increase.

Consider yourself lucky. Out here sales tax ranges from 8.75 to 10%. When we vote to pay for infrastructure improvements, the politicians raid those funds to pay for pet projects. And gas prices? Don't even get me started.
