MIL on - P1D8E

    After driving for a week, the Malfunction Indicator Light came on today. However there was no code shown in the DID. Pulled the code using the scan tool and it turned out to be P1D8E. Does anybody know what the code means?

    My baby has 800+ miles and I followed the proper break in procedure.

    Went to the dealer and they found an issue with the Park Sense sensor. Since it is integrated to the valve body, they need to order one which could take a week to ship. Told them I would be back once the part came.

    Btw, just a day at the dealership and they drove 70+ miles!

    I noticed it only after reaching home which is 7 miles from the dealership. The odometer reads 909 and I am pretty sure it was 830ish when I left it at the dealership. I am going to call them to find what exactly they were testing...

    I would rather drive 100 miles to a trust worthy service than give it to them

    Try and get that image out of your head after you realize they drove your car for 70 miles. I would be making someone at the dealership very uncomfortable if I was you.

    Now another issue. After shifting to park and turning off the engine DID says "Vehicle not in park" and will not turn off! After several tries of turning on and shifting gears it finally shuts off. Wierd...

    the RFH (radio frequency hub) controls "ignition switch" circuits. it won't allow ignition OFF unless it receives a "vehicle in PARK" signal from the TCM (transmission control module).
    T824 circuit, which goes from TCM to RFH needs to be thoroughly tested. have seen this codes before on WK grand cherokee with A8. fixed it by repairing a pushed out terminal in an inline connector.

    After two days in shop after replacing the valve body, the issue is still there. Now waiting for direction from the district engineer...

    Things getting crazy here; when I started the car there was hesitation and lots of white smoke. Also got the P0307. Dropped it to the dealer on Saturday and hoping for the best :(

    A few members have had similar symptoms with leaking intercooler.
    Have the other issues been resolved?

    No, the original issue is still there.

    Btw, the technician stated that the entire unit would need to be replaced. They don't have an ETA as they are not in stock.

    I wonder if there was a batch that got missed due to poor quality control.

    If it's leaking coolant into #7 or any cylinder it/they need to be borescoped for cyl wall anomalies
