If I decide to mod my Challenger HC A8 it will be a simple pulley swap to the 2.85 Metco pulley. Who has done this and what were the results. More concerned with ET versus HP. I already have 20" DR's and DSS Driveshaft. Best ET to date is 10.73. Also, for the 2.85 Pulley would you pin the crank?

May consider the 3.09 rear swap. My question for those that do and run 20" DR's, how much more difficult is the launch at the drag strip. I am concerned about tracks with a little less that great prep.

    Thanks for your comments.

Good question. I'll watch to see what you get back on this one.

My car is bone stock so take this with a grain of salt.... If I was doing a pulley and tune I would personally definitely pin the crank. My logic is that your warranty is shot anyway so take the extra precaution by pinning the crank.

I have been told by a vendor on here that everyone knows, for the 2.85 they would probably not pin the crank.

Well like I said, my car is bone stock. If I was doing the pulley I'd pin the crank.

Take it all in, make your own decisions and go from there. It's amazing what a pulley and tune does for these cars (with a capable driver LOL).

My first car was BONE STOCK a 100% "virgin" and the lower pulley spun and ruined the motor. This was the final straw with that car and it was the reason that I asked for a replacement under my state's "Lemon Law" which FCA was kind enough to send to me my current car. It's PERFECT! But it WILL get the lower pulley double pinned before I do anything else that could possibly void the warranty. It let go with a stock upper pulley so a smaller upper pulley, even a slightly smaller upper pulley will put more strain on the lower pulley and could increase the likelihood of the same failure all over again. It's cheap insurance. I am in complete agreement with SRT_HC_707 on this one.

Message Stella on his build. He has 2.85 upper and 93 octane tune, 3.09 rear. He ran 9.9 last Thursday on 28 x 10-17 slicks. Pin the crank! I'm double pinned.

Got any picture of double pinned? Also, where did you order the extra stock crank bolt?

Had mine pinned today. Plan on running the 2.75. For Less than $200 installed why would you not pin the crank? That's cheap insurance.

Hey moparmangamble, who is tuning your M6? You going with the HHP or the SCT?

Yes, 9.94 with those mods. I will make a correction though.. I have a tune for MS109 that I use at the track... 93 octane seems to be real inconsistent around here.

Indybill , please do yourself a favor, and pin the crank if you do any mods. That $90 pin kit may just save you $20k on an engine.
