Hey guys! Just wanted to post some videos of a couple of my runs last night during the CSP Take it to the Track night. I haven't got my aluminum DS yet, so I am still running on stock Pirelli summer tires and even with easing into the throttle I tend to get some wheel spin and/or hop. Regardless, it was a blast again (this is my second time going) and I am just happy to be working on my reaction/60 ft. times and getting comfortable with racing this beast. My best run of the night was a 12.16 @ 119.4 mph. PLEASE DON'T FORGET I AM AT 5800 FT. ABOVE SEA LEVEL, so the times are slower and the mph lower than if I was not at elevation.

Yea it is an A8 and I am launching it in full auto, no launch control, but I am using my left foot on the brake and right on the gas to keep the revs up at around 1200-1500 rpm. Settings are trans: track, suspension: sport, traction ctrl: sport; I tried turning off traction control for few runs and even after heating up the tires slightly and being extremely gentle on the throttle it still spun like crazy.

I know for a fact a lot of that spin is the stock tires since another challenger Hellcat at the track that night running Nitto NT555Rs was launching a lot better and his best run was an 11.73 IIRC. Oh and Colorado Hellcat was there too! I did find that heating up the stock tires a little to brush of the debris and get 'em sticky helped a bit though. Really is a blast, raced a Corvette stingray, Camaro ZL1, and tons of other cars and every time I was grinning ear to ear. :D

Next time try suspension in street. Will allow the rear end to squat and bite.

The difference of the horrible Colorado air has on engines is truly amazing. Lived in Denver area for three years and brought some awesome cars with me only to be severly disappointed at how they ran in Colorado. I think you great runs considering that air!

Hey I just realized I forgot to post up what the DA was that night at the track; it kind of explains how bad the air is up here in the mountains and validates my times more than me explaining it. So the DA at the track that day was 7790 ft and that was actually a good day lol! When I ran at the track on 08/12/15 the DA was over 8500! Anyways, I will try to remember to post the DA with my next set of runs.

What tire pressure did you run in the rear?

Street tires, so I left them at the stock air pressure. Maybe I should lower them a bit.

A week ago last Wed. I ran an 11.9 with M/T DR's. 305's. aired down to 22lbs. + Aluminum DS.

Yesterday I heard someone ran another 11.7.

I'll let ya'll know what I do later today. As long as the weather holds it should be like yesterday. I'm gonna chill the SC down between runs since I just read it actually helps quite a bit. Also I'll be going down to 18lbs.

I'f I get down to an 11.7 I'll be happy. This will be the last day for the season. :(
