Just installed the Mr. Norms shifter in my m6 Hellcat and it is a must have. If you have a m6 this is the shifter for you, very smooth shifting, no transmission feed back, just a lot better driving experience and not to mention the carbon fiber look matches perfectly with the interior. Took about 40 minutes to install and it is priced very reasonable and there is nothing like holding on to a pistol grip shifter. Mr Norms.JPG

I used the Hurst billet short throw shifter and did a mod to it to majke it more robust. I also used the Hurst Pistol grip handle on it as they made the shifter to accept it.

Do you have a picture of the shift before installing it? Id like to see what it looks like

No, but go to Mr. Norms website I believe they show it. It is a direct replacement can't believe how smooth it is compared to stock like night and day.

I'm considering a short shifter... I'm concerned about increased NVH though. I've read that NVH is a legitimate drawback to these mods.

Can anyone share about their experience with this? I get it that its smooth and less play, etc. great selling points. I want to know about the drawbacks.

    Thanks!

Well, like I said in my original post there is no vibrations or feedback it is solid, much better than the stock shifter.

So no drawbacks at all from what you can tell? It gets perfect marks across the board from you? I need to find someone near me who has one.

Honestly no, can't see any draw back but it does come down to what you prefer. I was shocked after I installed it I was just going for the old school look with the modern color, after I took it out for a ride I was surprised at how solid it felt and thought I would share that with everyone.

Im my 2013 SRT 392, I had the Mopar pistol grip shifter installed at the dealer. It is made by Hurst, and was like $1000. I too wanted the old school theme. The only drawback was that the throw was a little longer, and was a tad noisier due to the urethane bushings, IMHO. Mr. Norm's if I recall, looked identical except for the engraving. Very cool, but for my Hellcat it's either staying stock, or doing Barton underpinnings. It looks great on your car, enjoy.:) Here is the kit I had in the previous car.

    What makes Barton your preference?

    DAK,
I'll try to keep it short.
First I'd like to thank you on all your research on the Afe intake, and other input you put into this forum.
To answer your question quick, because of a previous product that was far superior in build quality than the factory unit. I purchased a 2012 Mustang GT.
Built to my spec, Waited 5 months to get it built. Bought it for the 5.0 motor to due dual duty track and daily driving. Bought front brake cooling ducts, Boss intake and rear diffuser. I was on the mustang forums, and people were complaining about sloppy shifting. I agreed. I called Steve and talked to him and and saw the factory unit was way inferior to what he was building. It was an easy install and was a huge difference. Unfortunately, I hated the solid axle, the build quality of panel fitment sucked. It was like driving a boat.
I bought a white GT and my buddy bought a black GT. I ordered 2 shifters. My buddy hated his Mustang, he traded it in before I did. I had 187 miles on my car and sold it back to the dealer.
If Barton's build quality for our Hellcats is equivalent to what he produced for the Mustang, it will be a near future mod.
Steve also had no problem with my returning my buddies shifter, which his shifter box was never opened. No smoke and mirrors.
I will research further, but to answer your question, based on a past product I purchased that made a superior improvement than stock.
I'm also interested in the Speedlogix trailing arms.
I hope this answers your question in a satisfactory way.
I don't mean to hijack the OP's thread. I love the pistol grip and had one in my 70 340.Challenger, as well as my 2013.
    Hope that wasn't too long.
    L J

Not too long at all... I appreciate your input, thank you!

I also didn't mean to take this thread in a different direction... koda711 just reminded me of another potential mod with this thread and it has me asking questions.

    Thanks everyone! :)

Now are you running the complete shifter or just the stick on the factory shift mechanism?
