Oh it will and when it does youll be all WTF?!?!?! Mine didnt for a while either. Seems like 22 or 24 mph it did. I hated it. I put the eliminator in mine. When I'd let my dad drive it seemed like he hit it all the time. The more gentle you are with the car the easier it'll happen. Its dumb and can potentially be dangerous. If u casually turn a corner and suddenly see a car coming and go into what u think is 2nd and it blocks you out then u have no gear, no power and can panic. I'd install the eliminator immediately. Im a 31 year old male who thinks he is superman but installed mine right away because of the dangers skip shift poses.

mine seems to go at 19-23 mph, for a car that idles at 8 mph in first, 19-23 is WAY too freakn slow to dump into 4th.. lug city!

I have yet to hear anyone say...Boy, I am sure glad they programmed that skip shift at lower speeds so I can save gas and lug the shizzy out of my Hellcat and risk getting hit in an intersection because my car won't shift into second! LOL It is a giant PAIN IN THE A$$ but I am not installing anything on my car that could be considered a modification that could result in causing damage to something. If I just get it up to 3500 rpm before shifting I don't have a problem. It's just when I am not paying attention and baby it. Hellcats don't like to be driven like a baby!!:D

Tammie is so right. Don't lug the shizzy out of it. Drive it like you stole it and you'll never have a problem.....

I still find it hard to believe that Dodge can build a 700 + bhp monster and they have to fit a stupid device that won't allow you to select the gear you want. It is just nuts. What is the point of buying an M6 if you don't get to choose the gear you want. If I had bought an M6 car the eliminator would have been installed before the car hit the docks in the UK

I hate the skip shift....my work place is super strict on speeds on premises and have had it kick in on my 392. Was going to get the skip shift, but decided not to with the Hellcat coming. All three of my previous Chally's have had manuals, and only time I ever have it kick in is when im coming or going to/from work on site. So annoying, i usually ride it out for 2 seconds and just put it to 3rd. Avoids the lug...and still keeps it in a power band for the gear.

    Put it all in context........

The Hellcat isn't the first and hopefully not the last to get the skip shift feature. In reality it is an "accounting tool" that the EPA accepts for improving gas mileage... thus supporting the CAFE requirements for each manufacturer.

Wouldn't it be a shame if something like skip shift technology could not be used to support the CAFE calculations and we ended up losing the chance at owning cars like the Hellcat?

A minor annoyance that you can fix with a simple skip shift eliminator for about $20.

First mod I made to my 2010 R/T.

Installed by the dealer on my 2013 SS before I even picked the car up.

I have a skip shift eliminator sitting on the shelf for my Hellcat that isn't (well maybe it is... following the latest projected ship dates) built yet. I will carry it with me and borrow the lift at the dealership and devote two minutes (hey I'm old give me a break) to install the eliminator.
