I recently got an HPE 850 upgrade form Hennessey Performance on my 2015 Challenger Hellcat. Trying to find tires that will hook up a bit more and not have to buy drag tires. Shopped around and am frustrated with what is out there. I was told the only solution is buying different rims and tires as nothing really is available for original Hellcat rims.

Help me out if you can.

It's too bad Dodge didn't put a wide body kit on the Hellcat as GM did with the C6 Z06 Corvette. They made allowances for much wider wheels and tires over the base model C6 Corvette.

I don't know how feasible it would be to flare the fenders on the Hellcat to accommodate wider wheels and tires, but that's the only answer I can think of to get some real traction.

    Has anyone looked into this?

I visited the Hennessey Website, if their claims are real you have now an actual ~850 RWHP. I am unhappy with the rear wheel traction on my car at ~650 RWHP. I can imagine what you are going through with 850. Especially, if the power band is "peaky" at all. Doesn't Hennessey have an answer for this? I would think they would have some suggestions. I imagine you can do some outstanding burnouts easier now.

If you can not run drag radials, I would suggest the 285/35/20 Toyo R888.

But, once you get above a certain rwhp (ex: 500+ rwhp), you should seriously consider Drag Radials.

Whether that means running drag radials full time on the stock wheels (for Hellcats that only come out to play in good weather) or having a second set of wheels with drag radials on them (for daily drivers who only want the additional traction on nice weekends).

The 305/35/20 Nitto 555R's fit on the stock wheels and greatly improve traction while still maintaining some moderate mileage (5-10K miles).
305/35/20 MT ET street S/S will give you even more traction but less miles.

    Good luck

Good suggestions for the stock Hellcat, thank you. I feel for the OP though. With ~850 RWHP he will be wanting for traction. He will be able to demonstrate spectacular burnouts though.

Thanks for the help. I was hoping to find a radial tire I could get 20,000 miles out of that gave me a lot more traction. I will have to sacrifice one for the other I guess.

If you get 20k miles out of any tire, you've bought the wrong car sir, Hennessy or stock awesome....just an observation.

The OEM stock rims do limit your choices. :( Check this out as to decisions to larger sizes(post#23) Bigger Wheels This is exactly the direction I also took my Challenger Hellcat with aftermarket tires and wheels for 275-40-20 Conti DW's on the steers and Conti DW's 315-35-20 on the drives. Minor mod to the drives wheel liners is all that is needed.

    From Hennessey Dyno Sheet

    Before: RunFile _ 001.drf Max Power = 668.20 Max Torque = 628.41
    After: RunFile _ 007. drf Max Power 774.90 Max Torque = 869.95

I uploaded the dyno sheet from Hennessey.

Not a fan of the screw on, over the top look either, but on the upside I think it will float now....
