Hi guys and girls, this is a most disturbing thought but I already need warranty service on my new Hellcat. I am concerned because of bad experiences I've had in the past with warranty service. I just don't trust that all dealers have good, reliable, well trained mechanics to work on my beloved Hellcat.

I took the car to a buddy who owns an independent garage to do my first oil change today because I didn't want to deal with the engine pans and the first oil change on jack stands. I am glad I did because I might have missed the major problem we discovered on the driver's side CV boot. The boot must be cracked or loose because a lot of grease leaked out. Photos below.

Any recommendations in the L.A. area for a Dodge dealer with a good service department?

LA area dealers are all bums..lol. Go to Huntington beach Jeep/Dodge in Huntington Beach(Orange County). Make a prior appointment in case you choose to go there, insist that a level 3 tech. works on your car.

No noise yet, but I am going try to push for replacement of the CV Joint regardless.

Thanks for that recommendation, I will insist on a level 3 tech. I already made an appointment at Glendale, they seem to have decent online reviews.

I am intent on getting the CV joint changed since it has been running dry for 1200 miles. It's obvious that the boot was not installed correctly at the factory and the lubricant drained out. Hopefully, the tech will agree.

Thank you very much for the kind words and suggestions, I hope it works out too... I don't know why I have a sense of dread regarding Dodge warranty work. Maybe it's just that the car is so new and the defect so ugly. Time will tell.

Had the same fix done under warranty on my car last year. CV boot went. Scott Robinson is the only dealership in LA I trust. Even though I am in Hollywood, I drive to them for any service!

Thank you for that. Do they provide you with a loaner/rental car?

They should, yes. Talk to Rudy and say Spencer with the Green Challenger sent you. I was just there this week doing an oil change.

WOW! Holy Smokes! I don't believe what just happened! My UPS driver strongly recommended I take my car to Alhambra Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for the best service he has found in the L.A. area. So for the heck of it I called and spoke to Javier, the service manager. He immediately picked up on where I was coming from, assured me that he has 6 level 3 techs working in his shop and would put his shop foreman on the job. Not only that but he said he would do the work while I wait so I don't have to leave "your beautiful beast" (his words) in the shop. I couldn't be happier with what I have heard so far. Between the service manager and the strong referral I feel like I am in great hands. I will post the results.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions.

Pi$$ on Glendale Dodge and the rude service writer over there. He was a complete jerk.

Nice! Alhambra is actually closer to me, might have to check them out if things go well!

I'm glad you found a reliable option. Your last statement echoes my observations of the majority of local dealers I have come across out here. Lol

Glad to know there are some potential hidden gems. Please keep us posted as I'm always on a look out for alternatives. Service/customer centricity is an intangible which cannot be quantified.
