Boosted cars don't need gear. Check any boosted car all 3.25 I just went 8.99 at 170 plus with a 3.25

Charger HC's have a 2.62 rear gear. Like Doc says above, don't need anything taller. I thought I read on here somewhere that the HC dif is a sealed unit and the only thing replaceable was the seals.

Jim, I would agree with setups getting more boost, but the 11-12lbs needs some help, even if 3.25 :D remember were moving 4000 lbs off the line

I don't think you could get enough tire under a HC if you had 3.55 gears. And I don't think any of us are going to tub out our cars.

If you have an auto, I can't imagine you needing more gears. You're already ripping through the gears and are in 5th gear by the end of the 1/4 mile. The way the gearing is set up on these 8 speeds, it seems you already have the benefits of a shorter and taller gear for acceleration AND top speed. Those 8 speeds helps with that.

The auto makes 1,2,3 shifts before 56 mph! My God man, lower gears!

Check the Motortrend video starting at 10:31 when they start the auto in second.

Third kicks in at 55-56 MPH!! That is absurd for a car with 650+ torques [/Clarkson]

Notice the infamous hood bulge at 11:03 too (You don't need to be going over 160mph to have that happen either).

Why would you need lower gear in an 8 speed? Total final drive in 1st is already super steep. Once you have a pulley on there helping the torque hit, good luck getting out of the hole without roasting. I would say at most a slightly bumped stall, CF driveshaft, and fattest stickiest tires you can fit will get you a 1.4 60' if you are making the power.
