On the fence about purchasing a Hellcat, currently have a very nice 2011 GT500. I went and looked and found out that the HC definitely does not have a sports car feel but it is comfortable car.
I have found the checklist that I will use if I do order one. Trying to do as much research on this so I know what I am getting into. I will be honest I truly never thought I would purchase a dodge product but the HC has definitely caught my eye. I have been in contact with a forum member here Booky as we had similar cars when he had his 500. I appreciate his insight. Well just wanted to drop in and say hi and start searching for info.

Here is my current ride that may be traded in on a HC.

Hey Paul, I have a feeling you are not going to be on that fence long.;)

Hopefully you find an amazing deal on a HC, but if not, you still have one hell of a good looking Shelby.

    Take care.

Welcome to the forum and one thing is for sure...you will make the right choice for you!!! Happy to see you in a Hellcat, should you choose that, but most importantly, what your driving should put a smile on your face....either will!

Man each time I see that Shelby it brings back some fond memories and good vibes. However once you sell your soul to the devil, you ain't looking back. Lol. Ideally I would have loved to keep the Shelby as well, but when push comes to shove....Hellcat wins. Hopefully you make the choice which is right for you. That's what counts. You need to be happy and at peace with your decision.

Some pictures of my 2014 GT500 Shelby in its full glory and triple black awesomeness. Loved the stealth matte black stripes on the black body color. I eventually traded it for the Phantom black charger HC. But the cat and the cobra co-existed pretty well and made for some great visual experience while it lasted:

That is a nice Mustang. HC is great, but I would think you could sell that instead of a trade. Good luck, welcome and we will look forward to watching what you do.

Hi Tightlines and welcome to the forum! What a tough decision... Your GT 500 is gorgeous (well kept) I agree with the other posts, you will make the right decision for you. For me it was an easy choice, always have been a Mopar man! Good luck...

Appreciate the nice comments and feedback. As far as Trade In vs Sell Privately is kind of a wash as I will have a tax savings if I trade in. I also don't have to go through strangers driving my car and trying to decide if they are serious or joy riders.

Found a dealer today willing to sell at MSRP even if I order. I am waiting on if they will take my trade in as the wonderful state of Illinois incorrectly put my mileage at 98,000 vs 9,800 during my last inspection. Shake my head, just another headache I will have to figure out before anything happens.

IMHO, the challenger hellcat had an old school powerhouse feel. Might not corner too well, might have more power than traction, and might be a little big legged (not a slim car), but, by golly, to feel that 700hp push you around. That's exactly what I like in my "sports cars".

I had the same problem with my last car. Dealership put 43,000 miles on it when the car only had 4,300. I didn't catch this until I went to sell the car. Then had to wait 6 weeks for the new title.

As far as the "Sports" car feel goes, it's really a different car. I have a Porsche 911 Turbo and I consider that more of a sports car. This is PURE RAW POWER and it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, which is every day, rain or shine :)

Well my decision is made and I found a dealer that would do MSRP, so HC ordered. It will be a long 8 weeks.

They had 4 Hellcats on the showroom floor too. Black and White M6, Granite and B5 blue Auto.

Ordered a Granite Crystal Auto. :)

Thanks for all the opinions and appreciate the info from Booky too.
