    Hi people,
I'm about to get my Jazz Blue Charger Hellcat. Today/tomorrow for sure.
I am a non-pro, but a very good detailer of my rides and some of my friends.
What I'd like to know is, if there is a cure time for the new paint. A time required before you clay bar and DA polish and wax.
Mine is a garage queen, and I like to do my own work.

Someone may correct me. But cars out of the factory are cured when placed into the oven.

If you had a body shop do some paint work you have to wait about 30 days for cure.

But you're good. I'll be wax and polishing mine the weekend she gets home.

And congratulations on a sick ride!

Thanks for the quick reply! I think I answered my own question. Google!!!! New car paint is baked after application. By the time it arrives at the dealer, it's fully cured. Several sites have said that by the time it rolls off the line, you can clay, polish and wax. I don't want to leave it unprotected for more than a few days.

many sat in a big parking lot in Canada and then took weeks to ship by train...odds are your car is over a month old and paint isnt an issue

You are good to go. It's baked at the factory. Have at it and please post up pictures of your work when you are done. Enjoy your cat.

Thanks! Delivery is anytime. Missed the last 2 days, and dealer thinks today. I got an inside spot in a warehouse where I used to work. Detailing tomorrow......if I get it today. Dealer said they only need 3 to 4 hours to prep for me.....Fingers crossed

Ya, 20 minutes to hit it with a hose and then they all take turns taking it out for drives and getting lunch...

The dealer I got mine from did a really good job on prep. They didn't put any swirls in the paint (none), they saved the stuff I asked them to save and according to the sales guy only he and the PDI mechanic were allowed to drive the car at all. The sales guy had to move it into and out of the detail bay. Smart because the dealer is on the hook for any damage not noted when it comes off the delivery truck I'm sure.

Sounds like my dealer. Salesman is collecting all the papers and laminating them for me

Laminating. Nice, I must have had a cheap dealer. They just stuffed them in the glovebox (but that was fine with me).
