Saw today that the new zl1 is coming out with 640hp and a 10 speed! That sounds crazy to everyone but for me the manual is still a 6 speed because i only want these cars in a manual. Ford is really behind now i wonder what they are doing for 2017? With the new camaro out i still dont see myself trading in my hellcat for it. I drive mine every day and i love to every second. Only car is consider trading for is a c7 z06 because that car is a monster but i still think the hellcat is on top

    Hellcat Challenger is on top!
On top of its own class!
there isn't any other car to really compare it to. Its big enough to bump it up a size class from the Camaro and mustang.
If I was looking at a four door, I'd have to do some serious thought about the M5, A8, and the Mercedes S65 compared to the Charger.

The only car id trade my challenger for is a c7 z06 but those are like 40k above the hellcat and the insurance for one is alot more than the hellcat

I went to a dealership to see how much it was in BC Canada and it was about 130k for one and the insurance was alot higher than my Cat. It would have to be my daily for that price but with the cylinder deactivation they get on average 25mpg

I have said many times that the hellcat is the trendsetter. It will be copied but never duplicated. Chevy can come out with all the vettes and camaros they want. Dodge has 2 platform cars with the most horsepower and one in the oven. 3 production vehicles with the most horsepower is the clear winner. No bias aside, it is that way period!!!!!!

Be interesting to see the RWHP numbers, GM has always been generous with claimed HP!

Oh, darn you took my thunder. Wonder what the RWHP will really be?

Thanks Dodge, nearly every test I have seen supports or exceeds 707 at the crank.

I do love the vettes but my build made comfort an issue. Putting both hands on the ground to get out of a car is not sexy or smooth. This goes for the Viper too.

Slight like for the Camaro but I wouldn't even think about trading my Cat for one.

If hellcats are already outrunning C7 Z06's, then the ZL1 will not be a threat. Same engine as a Z06, but at least 400 lbs heavier.

Looking at the Z06 LT4 SAE measured ratings and how the engine derates due to poor cooling management (e.g. oil cooler right next to one of the cats), GM overstated the 650hp claim as it is really 645hp at 6400rpm. Torque is a higher at 656tq.
