I forget where I saw it but I read somewhere recently that the next cheapest factory production car with more than 700 horsepower is over $300,000? Maybe it was just about sedans? I hate to misquote it. Can anyone recall the article?

That's not the article that I saw. There were only 5 cars featured and the Hellcat Charger was one of them and two or three of the other 4 were produced by other Fiat owned companies.

Certainly nothing under 100k. Probably looking at spending over 200k to get that much HP. No thanks!

HP is important but high HP engines with low torque numbers aren't gonna get down the road like a Hellcat. What makes the Hellcat is 700 ft/# of torque. Measured that way (700 HP and TQ) together, its kinda in a class of one!

I believe the next closest HP number would be a Shelby Super Snake, then you shoot up to the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta which is 700hp.

    740 on the Ferrari.

It's a pretty exclusive club, being at this power level. And, not that our cars are the fanciest out there, but they are daaaaamn comfortable and amazingly equipped while being this powerful and this fast.

none of those cars have a backseat and a useful trunk, 18 speaker stereo and an actual manual transmission. Hellcat is the only one for me, regardless of the money. I couldn't imagine banging around Houston streets in some of those cars. I think you must buy them to look at, not to drive.
