For those who haven't bought your drag radials yet, Discount Tire Direct's Ebay store is having a sale where they give you a $100 discount at checkout by using the code CMOTORS151. They list the Nitto 555Rs 305/35/20 for $640 so you should pay $540 with free shipping.

If my posting this info violates a vendor policy on this site, so be it. This post is designed to help the Cat owners on the site and I get no personal gain from it.

Wamo, was there a particular reason you chose Nitto over Mickey Thompson? Just curious...I know very little about tires.

Honestly no, just seemed to be the one most of the guys on here are using. Even though this isn't my daily driver, when looking at the 2 it looked like the nitto's had a little more tread pattern and I thought just in case I do get caught out in the rain or something it looked like this tread might be able to handle it a little better. I've heard guys say the Mickey's which might be better on the track are like driving on ice in the rain.

Fair enough...I've heard a little about the traction in the weather issue as well. Appreciate the response...have fun!

The M/Ts didn't come in a 305 for the 20 inch rim. They only offer (may have changed by now) a 315 which fits, but is pushing it on a 9.5 rim. In addition, when NHRA certified the 10 second run, they used the Nitto 555R 305/35/20. I think that is why you see a lot of Nitto users.

I ran Nitto 555R's all summer. Work great even in the rain. Went to the track Aired them down and ran 10.8. Used them up and plan to replace with the same tire.
