This morning when I went for a spin in my Challenger Hellcat A8, radio off and everything was quiet, I heard a weird gear noise at low speed. It's under my seat or consol area and sounded like gears shuffling around. I've heard this before, but it seemed to last a while until the A8 got into 3rd. Next time I slowed down, I heard it again. Thoughts? Concerns?

    Did you change the driveshaft?

My vote is rear end whine. Low speed noise. My car did it a lot till I hit 45/50 mph. Then went away. Now it has over 500 miles and it's a lot better.

I had the rear end noise at the beginning. This sounds different. Like a muffled sound of gears shuffling.

Ok, I'm thinking back to the late 70's back when I was a line mechanic at the local Dodge dealer , a noise like you describe would have came from planetary gears in the old 727's not sure if the A-8 is set up that way. Dr.Buick may know what's up.
