when turning at low speeds 5-10 mph I hear a whining grinding sound coming from the rear end. I don't hear it all the time. Have others heard it? My tech said he replaced a differential in a Hellcat with the same noise.

If your tech heard it and has replaced another wouldn't it be same your car?

He said it was louder and more consistent in the other car. I hear people talking about a whining noise and thought I'd see if that is it.

Did the field engineer say why drain old lsd fluid and replace? This is the same exact thing we drove in a figure eight.

Mine has been doing it. I wasn't sure what I was hearing though. I will take mine in. It only happens in a turn and I want to be more specific and say left onl, but it has been so faint I wasn't sure.

Had to do that to inspect it and implied that a "friction reducer" was added to the new oil.

I will call on Monday and see if I can get her in. I have a great service department and feel confident they will fix it right! Completely off subject but in the same swim lane. My chevy SS had less than 5K miles on it when Chevy had to replace the rearend. They replaced the whole thing. They did want to just replace the gears. I will be interested to see how dodge handles it.

It's the CF clutch plates rubbing together. Nothing to worry about

So I understand, they drained the diff and just added the identical fluid but new back in plus a friction reducer?
    Thanks

They'll drain and refill the diff fluid. Sometimes that quiets it. Just know it's not a functional issue that's going to break anything. Strictly an annoyance. Mine does it occasionally.

My tech had the same issue on a 2015 hellcat with 5000 miles. Did a star on it, dodge came back and said put a new diff in it. Interesting maybe they did more research later
