Oil at 500kms/310miles for you US guys

    So I did an oil change, found metal in the oil, actually looks quite normal compared to the other cars I have owned. Also the oil cooler drain plug was not very tight at all but at least the threads felt ok on it. See attached pics. The specs in the pan are fine particles of steel. Overall the job was very easy.

    On another note I looked at how all the cooler lines were run and how everything was laid out. Nice design that looks easy to work on.

    That is why I am a strong advocate of changing the oil early.

    I only have 375kms and will also be changing the oil and filter at 500kms. This is a high performance 707hp engine we are talking about.

    My new Toyota Tacoma has about the same amount in the oil when I changed it at about 500. I think it's normal with all these new engines.

    Mind you the only one that had no particles, or none I could see was my GT500. All the others had particles.
