Gonna be time to change the oil for the first time soon (1500 miles).

What can I expect if I take it to a dealer?
    What have you guys paid?
And do they put in the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum that it comes with from factory?

Has anybody taken it to another shop to do, and just brought the oil with you?

i always take it to the dealer for the oil change. i buy the lifetime with the car. with this car i wouldn't trust a regular place to do it right. take it to the dealership and if they f-it up its on them. i believe it is 5 liters in the pan and one liter in the supercharger.

Whatever oil you decide to use make sure they drain the cooling oil too on top of the engine oil. Check with your service shop dealership to see if they use Pennzoil. Mine says they use a synthetic blend so I brought my own oil. Total time should be 45min - 1hr wait including full draining of the cooling oil.

    Thanks guys.
Guess I'll go shopping for the Pennzoil Ultra Premium on Amazon.
(and because my owner's manual is in the car's trunk and I'm feeling lazy right now, how many total quarts on our cat's)?
Why Ebay for the SRT 041 Filter? And is SRT 041 the filter part number?

1500 mile first oil change? First oil change was free and I paid for 15 when I got the car as part of a service package. Yes on the oil and SRT filters only.

Around 1500 miles is what I usually do on all my new cars.
And since SRT recommends going 1500 miles before taking the car to the track, I figured it was perfect as that must be when the feel it's all ready and set in.
The SRT Viper Tech also told me that was perfect. :)

Just did my first oil change and they refused to put on 041 SRT filter. They put the one on the car came with. Then we got into it big time over the filter they called SRT and was told the 041 was for a variable timing motor and do not recommend it. So can someone please shed some light on this filter and why use it?

I changed mine this weekend... Mobil 1 and K&N oil filter. Pretty straight forward... used two flat head screw drivers to "pluck" the push pins out. Oil cooler was an easy drain... I wouldn't be too picky about the oil filter IMHO.
