If you carry your car to your dealer for its first oil change, stay back there with them. Most dont know how to drain the oil out of the supercharger, and will tell you there is no drain(I did not know where it was until we changed it)from now on I will keep recites and do it myself.I have been stock-piling oil because it is hard to find around here.we all have to remember these techs dont know a lot about these cars, they went and got there master tech and he said there is no other drain than the 1 in the oil pan,I said Google is you freind.

everything I have read stated the supercharger is a sealed unit and doesn't need lube change

It may be for the inter-coolers,if you raise you car up and take the plastic covers off you will find a drain on the passengers side,up toward the front valance you will find a drain with a magnetic plug in it also,I feel sure that its for the inter cooler,It was my mistake on calling it the super-charger,If you get every thing drained it will hold exactly 6 quarts of oil,but there is definatly a drain on the passengers side under those plastic covers.

yea that's the oil cooler drain. btw 6.5 quarts to "fill" .... 6 quarts is only half way up the safe zone

Yep as Abe stated its the oil cooler drain. But you're right, most won't know to drain it. Thats why I do my own.

I went to change my oil at dealer and was told could not observe to liability implication. I was receipted for 6 qts of oil and filter. I do not believe oil cooler was touched though. I will make sure that oil coller is drained at next service interval. By the way oil changes are free for first 2 years was told. As Jerrt said in opening thread it is important to observe and know what the techs are doing as they come down the learning curve with these cars.

I change myself, I do recommend that everyone use the SRT oil filter, better flow and higher bypass relief setting

Going for my 1st oil change today. After 1800 miles round trip to Michigan. I'm nervous hoping they have all the right supplies. I'm going to print the instructions. I don't know if they have serviced a hellcat. Small beach town. I haven't even seen another hellcat anywhere in my area. I carry the proper oil in my trunk just in case I need it. Btw...oil level fine all the way on my trip...gas mileage 22.7 red key no eco mode...yes pulled over for speeding 1 time right before WVA in Ohio...mode of the night...got a warning.:)

Where did they hear this? I know rental cars are part of SRT perks but I've never heard of free oil changes. I do my own anyway.
