Okay checking around the only 0-40 synthetic I have found is either Mobil 1 or Royal Purple. I use Castrol in my other cars. I've never used these and just wanted some input.

I use Royal Purple in our R/T. The Filter too. Can usually get it at a decent price on Amazon.com.

They claim 4x - 5x better metal to metal protection that other oils (petroleum or synthetic)... whether that is actually true or not... I don't know. I do know it is one of the better brands, though. And they do a lot of filter research like K&N does for air filters.

Mobil1, Pennzoil Platinum Ultra, or Amsoil 0W40, take your pick.

I don't have any experience with Royal Purple so I can't/won't comment

Thanks. Just wasn't sure what people were putting in their Cats. Just like my 5W50 is a pain to find it looks like the 0W40 is going to be the same. Screw it I'm changing all mine to 30HD and be done. Lawnmower, performance car, same thing right?

Pennzoil or Mobil 1, 0-40w you'll notice is actually mobils "european" formula, probably cause of mercedez owning chrysler back then.

I use Mobil 1 in my two show cars.
And I plan on Mobil 1 in my Hellcat, changing a little more often than recommended.

Is the Mobil 1 okay to use or could it be an issue when it comes to warranty? I checked their website because I use Mobil 1 in my truck (Mobil Delvac 1 ESP Mobil Delvac Motor Oils), but when I searched for the Hellcat, I got:

"Based on what you've told us, your vehicle manufacturer recommends a 0W-40 viscosity and full synthetic oil that meets API SN. We currently do not offer any motor oils in the United States that meet these specifications."

So, I just figured I'd go with the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0W-40.

Mobil 1 does offer 0w-40 it's their european formula. I see it at autozone, gas stations and etc. My shop almost never carries it because very few cars call for it.

Amsoil is my first choice. Mobil 1 is a close second (and a good deal cheaper). Both are very good.
NAPA Gold (WIX) filter is just as important as using good oil.

I've used Royal Purple 0W-40 and oil filter 20-820 on my 2013 Challenger 392 and on my Hellcat. No issues, great results!

Yes, but does it have the FCA required rating? If not, then whether or not that matters is your call. On my Ram, the manual specified the oil had to be API CJ-4 and Cummins CES 20081 ratings. I didn't want to have warranty issues later if I had a problem with that Cummins engine; I wouldn't think it'd be cheap to pay to replace it on my own.

The FCA material spec is suggested not required. It is not like API not something licensed (as applicable to warranty.). All already covered here --http://Look what came in for my Hellcat oil change Page 3 SRT Hellcat Forum

Looks like you're right, under the 0W-40, it shows it does meet the API SN requirements.

Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil Mobil Motor Oils

Not sure why their own site search doesn't show it. You can even get it at Walmart.

    Mobil 1 0W-40 Full Synthetic Motor Oil 1 qt. - Walmart.com
    Mobil 1 0W-40 Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil 5 qt. - Walmart.com

Thanks, I hadn't seen that thread. Maybe it isn't required, but people always want to know what is the "best oil". I know I do for this car.
