I put down a deposit at another dealer maybe a week or so ago for a HC. The sales guy told me they have four allocated and that I should have the car 4-6 weeks from now. I was suspicious when he gave me just a VON so as many of you already know, I contacted Dodge and they told me that there is no scheduled build time yet for this car (also done about a week ago or so).

Today, I spoke with a sales person from same dealership who is a very friendly sales associate. She called me to just update me on the status and stated the following: they requested the allocations for their HC's last year August and were given the green light last week when I placed my order (along with couple other people). She further stated that even though they don't have a VIN for me yet, I should have the car within 6-8 weeks max. She stated that they have been working closely with Dodge and Dodge allowed them to have the four allocations because they have followed the rules regarding selling for MSRP.

So my question: Do you think dealer will have the car within time they promised? When I talked to Dodge they said they only accepted the order at this time. When should I expect a VIN? Do you think they are blowing smoke with being able to have 4 allocations?

I really hope that they have the car as promised within the next two months at max.

As always, thanx for your input! Can't wait to have my car!!! Already told my wife that even if I am away at my military base (which is 3 hours away) on orders during the time the car comes in I am still driving in after work that day, picking up the car, and driving it back to the base that night lol

You do realize these people are very skilled, professional liars right?

Dodge says AT MOST a dealer can get one allocation per month (Challenger or Charger) if all the right conditions are met.

So I'd say BEST case they may get one allocation. If you aren't first in line, you ought to wack this bitzch in the teeth with a piece of black pipe!

Listen to DrBuick. He works at a dealership and is telling you how it works with his dealership. No dealer is going to get special treatment...At least no one will know if they do because the owner is friends with Tim K. or another FCA Executive. No dealer knew back in August how many total allocations they would get for the '15MY. I'm sorry, but they are just feeding you a big fat lie. Best case, you are first in line and may stand a chance of getting a VIN "WHEN" the dealership truly meets all the criteria for an allocation.

Just the person I would be wanting to talk to about this.

I have seen the flow chart and know how the allocation process works according to the chart. Is your dealership following this chart? Is it possible they could have one allocation a month as long as they follow the guidelines?

Hun, they are lying through their teeth to you. I am sorry ... the situation sucks, HARD. Here's hoping that you get your car, but to be on the safe side, you might want to start looking for a car on the lot somewhere.

Yes I actually talked to my wife about this option and that's what I will be doing. Wanted the dark gray color but might just settle at this point for black :(

Just curious what dealership it is? Sounds like we need to tell others on here to avoid it!

How is it possible that something like this happens, with the seemingly 3-4 threads a day about Dodge stopping orders (and/or reducing to one allocation per month)?
