Anyone have both of these cars?

If so, is there a difference in the exhaust note?

Owned both. Exhaust note is louder on hellcat. 392 sounds good too but hellcat is just hellacious...

I own a HC but have driven a 392. Both sound great with the HC having a little more sound....getting opinions about sound is not the best way to judge...go to your dealer and see if he has both on the lot or go to a GTG...

I dislike my local dealers so much in don't even want to bother going in. These guys are still 10k over.

    YouTube they sound very close.

Keep in mind, dealers will tell you they are $5 or $10K over to get rid of "lookie loo's" If you are a serious shopper, tell the dealer that you are a buyer at MSRP or MSRP + $X and watch what happens. I started to get offers at sticker until I got one in the color/Equipment I wanted.

As far as sound goes, I drove both and the exhaust is very similar however the supercharger tends to make the Hellcat noticeably louder. The HC grabs RPM's faster and then of course the whine of the supercharger is pretty impressive itself.

Ive owned both. Extremely close in sound with the slightly more obnoxious nod going to the HC, in a good way. The HC has more of a hollow old school sound, almost like if you removed a converter on an older v-8, especially on cold starts. Although they both sound meaner on cold starts. The 392 sounds awesome though, really super close to the HC. Id bet most people wouldnt know the difference as you drove past.

I have had both and I was amazed at how much louder the Hellcat is when you start it up in the Garage. But some of that is the fact that the Hellcat RPM's a lot more on cold startup (probably because of the blower). Either way the Hellcat is louder.

Agree. So I dont. Tell them your price and just walk away if they dont meet it. Almost everyone is selling HC at Sticker or 500.00 under. Just be ready to buy and that they have the car you want.

I couldn't agree more. However if I can't make my deal by email I don't even bother. No time to drive to the local dealer.

Well the longer you wait the better price you will likely get. Also to busy to shop means to busy to drive so its better to wait. Or all you do is stay up and think of reasons to drive your car. ;) so you will sleep better at night without the car. :D

I ordered a Charger SRT 392 because I absolutely love that car! I still want one even after buying the Challenger Hellcat. I was adamant about not paying over sticker for a Hellcat and made that known to half a dozen dealers through their Internet Departments. 4 weeks into my order I get a call about a Hellcat in Billet Silver with Sunroof and Laguna Leather (my deal breaker items) at my price. Even funnier, I have had 4 phone calls since then with HC's at my price. Stick to your guns but you have to do your part and put it out there that you are serious and will buy at your price.

I had a 392 SRT Jeep before with a Borla S Type exhaust, the Hellcat is louder stock and sounds MUCH more angry although the 392 sounded great.

I have a 2015 Jeep srt right now.

This thing is quiet compared to my 2008 srt Jeep.
