Hi everyone, I jumped ship from Chevy (C6 Z06) to Mopar and placed an order for 2016 SRT 392 last week with all the options except the HK audio, summer tires and the engine block heater. I skipped the optional audio because I generally prefer the sound of the V8 Symphony to music while driving. And $530 for summer tires seemed like a ripoff when they are priced the same as the All Season Tires at Tire Rack. The engine block heater is not necessary in California.

My search for this car began with a Hellcat but I gave up when I couldn't get one at sticker or below. Paying dealer markups is a violation of my principles. Best deal I could find on a Hellcat was $2500 over sticker. Anyway, the test drive of the SRT 392 was impressive for a new car not even broken in yet I loved everything about it.

I can't wait to take delivery, after reading a post here I am not sure how long delivery will take but the dealer says 8 to 10 weeks.

Congrats... the SRT 392 is an excellent choice for a non Hellcat. I agree with you on the summer tire option... why did you get the engine block heater? Just to make it different? My guess is once the spring rush is over the Hellcat markups will start dropping off and MSRP will be the norm. Still many dealerships selling at MSRP... you would just have to travel.

Thank you. Sorry for the confusion, I meant to say that the only options that I did not order were the HK audio, the summer tires and the engine block heater. I tried all the dealerships within a couple hundred miles and the story was always the same, they wanted between $2500 and $20,000 over sticker for the Hellcat. Truthfully, since I don't drag race the only time I would fully utilize all the power of the Hellcat would be in the front straight at Willow Springs Raceway. On the rest of the track it's more about handling and driving skill than power.

I would have bought at MSRP but it would have been a stretch for me to justify spending an extra $20K for the 200 HP.

Congrats and welcome to the club from upsate NY. what dealer was selling at 20,000 over sticker? Let me know please

Enjoy your car, you'll be happy with your choice. What color did you choose?

$595 up charge is for summer Pirelli tires? Not all season, tire rack pricing on the summer tires is like 250-270 a piece

I have a '15 SRT, love it! Ridiculously fun car, very quick, stops on a dime, just an awesome ride. Currently waiting for my new HC but tbh the 392 car is plenty. HC is just a bucket list item for me. You will definitely love the SRT. It has all the HC goodies but with a hair less hp that most of us can never use anyway. Congrats and enjoy!
