This is an excellent read by Hot Rod Network on the Hellcat engine.
If you have any understanding of how an engine works, you'll appreciate this article.
It's a bit long, but very detailed, and has a good video at the end:

Yes I enjoyed reading it a couple times now. Being a mechanical engineer myself, I appreciate all the thought that went into this engine and body design to make it right. So far I haven't heard of anyone disappointed overall even with a few minor hiccups people have posted on here.

That's okay. This is my favorite read about the Hellcat and I have relinked to it a few times when referenced...;)

Yes, posted a couple times before, but definitely the most in-depth article on the engineering and design that went into this engine. Wish it would have also covered trannies, rearend, suspension and exhaust system as well. I'm a total gear-head, and this article still made me say 'wow' several times when I read all the measures they took to make this a pinnacle machine.

Have to say, they really went all out on the quality of the bottom end. Ten thousand of an in clearance on a factory built engine is absolutely awesome. This engine is going to be something to fear when people start modifying it. The parts and craftsmanship of this engine will withstand 1000+hp I have no doubt about that. I'm sure it can handle every bit of 7000rpm too. Can't wait to have tunes available, turn up that rev limiter.
