I'd like to see real life pics, not the pics on the drivesrt.com builder. I want to know the difference in these two shades...

I saw a Phantom Black in the showroom and it looked like dust on the
paint, the sun hits it and really pops.......looks like silver and
    blue sparkle in good lighting......

Pretty color, but I prefer Pich Black.

So Phantom Black is more of a metallic, tiny metal flake? Kinda like my current SRT8. Beautiful in the sun...b!tch to match if it ever has to be painted.

    Sounds correct.
My '09 is Brilliant Black Crystal Pearlcoat... Description sounds similar to Phantom Black.
Pitch black looks like the old "lacquer black" of the 60's and 70's.... no metal flake or pearl in the paint.

Phantom black has way more flake in it. And bigger flakes, Than the brilliant crystal.

Hmmm, my first car was a '69 Nova, with a hand-rubbed, black lacquer paint job (thanks Dad) that looked like you could stick your arm in it (that deep). I may have to change my order...

I have phantom black. Lots of metalflake. One of my other Challengers was pitch black. I bought phantom black for one specific reason: I love a black car but I hate swirls and fine scratches. Phantom black hides swirls and real fine scratches that with pitch black show up rather easily. No brainer for me!

Agree with you on the swirls. But if you detail it with the right teqnique and products, you lessen the issue exponentially. For example, if you ever drive in the rain, hose the car down as soon as you get home. Gets a lot of crap off. Sounds nuts but it works. Black is absolutely gorgeous and I feel your pain.
