I could use some guidance from some of you more seasoned hot rod and muscle car owners. With all the talk about paint issues, I declined the clear coat from the dealership. Now I'm hoping some of y'all can help point me towards the next step. Is cquartz just wax or does it work as a clear coat? Are there other options? Also, isn't there some sort of clear-bra that will protect my front end from chipping?

To summarize, I'm looking for guidance regarding what to do now that I own the world's best car. Specifically, how does one prevent damage to the paint and make a car look like something rolling onto the stage at Barrett Jackson.

    Thank you in advance.

I'm pretty sure CQuartz is just wax, but XPEL is a clear bra you can have installed on the front end/hood to help with rock chips. (Or wrap your hood).

A Cquartz certified guy is what you want because he can detail the car first. Mine is $75 an hour and have an appointment set

Cquartz Finest is NOT just wax. It is one of a number of the new micro liquid ceramic sealers. A number of coats are applied. Each coat is heat lamp cured.

Someone just wrote up a really good post on what it exactly is & does. I need to find it.

I wish I had the answer for you, I'm old school and outdated I guess...no cquartz or fancy polishes...a cup of coffee and old fashioned wax and polish in the garage early in the mornings, one section at a time. Stepping back admiring the cars finish all while smoking a cigar and sipping coffee.

My daughter has a 392 Challenger and had the 3m invisible bra installed three years ago. The film is 8 mm thick and repels small rocks and debris to eliminate chips and dents. So far its been excellent. We had a professional install for $900 and the only maintenance is waxing once a month (or more) with a synthetic paste which has no petroleum desolates which would turn it yellow. The paste wax also protects from UV rays which also darkens the film. The bra covers 1/4 of hood and the entire lower bumper and facia parts.

This wasn't my park job (it was backed in when we picked up my car after the wrap), but my normal go-to choice is to back into a spot if I can. :)
