Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. Found my beast in Minneapolis. Bought it two days ago. The car is amazing. I am surprised how well it controls its power. I think I'm gonna tint the windows right away, not sure if I will do any other mods. It has an M6, shaker hood, sunroof. Black leather.

I wanted to ask, do you guys use automatic car washes. We have a lot of touchless car washes. Is it okay to use them?

Welcome to the club. FYI that's not a shaker hood. I run mine through the car wash. And it's black. It's your car. Do what you want.

Hello, and welcome! Grtz on the new Hellcat! That is not a shaker hood, it is the Hellcat hood ... the only hood that has 3 air vents. :) And I never use an automatic car wash ... hand wash only for Jimi (what I named my PCP HC)! I love the pictures, but I dunno who looks more excited .. .you, or your lil' cutie (you have your own Mini-Me)! Enjoy!

    April

PS - pictured below is a yellow Challenger with a shaker hood.

Welcome to the forum; I grew up in Sioux Falls and went to school in Mpls. Love the pics with your son... those are memories made well.

I wouldn't trust my paint to any normal carwash, touchless or not. And I'm not really that picky. For me, it's all about 1) water spots and 2) swirls. The only way to control them and keep that PCP looking good is to wash it yourself or have a real pro do it... and that becomes a question of time vs. money. Part of the decision might rest on whether you're stuck with hard water at home, and if so, whether you're willing to rig up a deionizer system. Also look up the "two bucket wash" technique, and find some high-quality microfiber towels.

You've got a gorgeous car; I'd say washing it yourself might be fairly enjoyable. Especially since it looks like you've got a little assistant there to help with the work :D

Very cool! After searching it looks like the crowd is split both ways on the washing. It's a tough call...
