Took the car out for some spirited driving, cornering, and braking. After the first hard brake from high speed, the pads immediately lose effectiveness...braking power heavily reduced...I am definitely going back to the stock pads when I take it to the road course. Any other recommendations? Can I switch to a better brake fluid and still use it for daily driving?

hard to beat the factory pads and rotors--they are "matched" for effectiveness...

Definitely can see that now. I don't see a point in trying the Z26 because you will still have brake dust and I would bet nothing will be better than the stock pads.

Good to know they are good on the drag strip, but what about a road course where they will get extremely hot? Have you run them on a road course yet?

If the cat came with no dust pads I would pay to upgrade to performance pads and just put up with cleaning them often.

Hey solo2, did you do the 5 plus 5 hard stops to bed them in? I just installed Z23's last Thursday and did the bedding per instructions. Haven't had a chance to work them yet but hope your experience was atypical. Any chance there is something out of whack with the set you were given or is your opinion that it's the way it is?

Anyone else with experience with Z23's willing to chime in, good or bad? The factory braking was very good. Hope I didn't waste money hoping for like performance with the benefit of cleaner Monkeys :(:(

GS, I was driving on the LIE today and got whacked by a stone, result was small chip and small cracks in windshield. Can you recommend any local glass repair shops on the island? Should be a simple repair but want it done right.

    Thanks,
    Frank

Yes, did the break in as per instructions. I don't think anything is wrong...around town they are fine/l. I just think the stock pads are going to be better for track.

Your insurance should have glass coverage. I only use Newbridge Auto Body in Bellmore. Ask for Vinny and say Steve sent you:)

Good to know I'm not the only one that was worried about that happening.

the brake pad material on the Z26 pads is exactly the same as on the Z23 pads. I called the company and asked. The only difference is in the backing material.
